Boo - Fernbird
Open Edition - A fernbird (Bowdleria punctata) stretches its legs and holds onto the dead grass steams as it climbs out of the vegetation.
This image took three days to capture. I had to return to the same area each day hoping to get the image I had envisaged. It can often be painstaking when you’re determined to get a specific image. When it did finally get into the position I wanted I had just a couple of seconds to take the shot. Preparation is the key and this time it paid off. Printed on Museo Silver Rag 300gsm.
This image got me through to be a finalist in the ANZANG Nature Photographer of the Year 2016.
